About noon today, I realized that I had spent much of my Sunday morning writing e-mail. My first reaction was dismay. What a waste of time, right? But then I thought about it a little bit more. I sent four messages this morning. They weren't quick questions and responses, work-related missives, or forwarded jokes (God forbid); they were actual letters, the old-fashioned kind--except for the fact that they were composed and sent electronically.
Once upon a time, spending a Sunday morning writing letters would have been seen as a very productive use of time. So why do I feel like such a lazy slob for doing it electronically?
I suppose it's all a matter of perception.
